GREENVILLE, GA - The Meriwether County Industrial Development Authority has announced the appointment of Blue Cole as Executive Director for Projects, effective November 1st.
A graduate of Georgia Southern University, Cole was previously Meriwether County’s Assistant County Administrator. Prior to his career in Meriwether County, Cole spent over a decade in state government, executing projects, and conducting strategic planning. An experienced grant writer, Cole has brought multiple grants to Meriwether County, aiding public safety, the animal shelter, and road network. A native of Coweta County, he is the former Mayor of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and has been active on various boards, assisting multiple non-profit organizations with development and growth.
“I’m looking forward to working with the industries and employers in Meriwether County. Developing a resilient tax base and bringing opportunity to Meriwether County is the goal, ” said Cole. “We have opportunities in multiple sectors, with access to a dynamic workforce and several great locations.”

The MCDA was established in 1967 to encourage and promote the expansion and development of industry, agriculture trade, and commerce in Meriwether County. The MC Industrial Development Authority is responsible for the recruitment of industry to Meriwether County.
